A new adventure...

Little Miss Greenpeace is always on the lookout for little birds and nests and she knows exactly who is breading where and what and how many...

We've had a little dove breading in a nearby tree. She built a really small nest last breading season and she miraculously had one little chick survive this dangerous home. Let me tell you, she can hardly sit on that nest there is not enough room for much more than herself. So this time round she had two eggs and we came up with a rescue plan...

A fishing net will do great to protect a little one from a potential fall...
There was no wind during the night, so we didn't expect to find a little castaway the very next morning!

The tiniest little quivering baby dove were safely caught. Now what!? We took it inside because there was no way we would jeopardise the other little chick by putting this one back into the nest.
Then we started to realize that the mother might have kicked this little one out of the already too small nest. It was really tiny and weak, and not responding too well.

Fortunately we still had our infra red light from raising day old chickens a while ago!

So we gave it some heat, a little bit of food and lots of love and prayers...
That all happened yesterday...

Building your house on the sand...

During the holidays the children came to me with this wild story of a house on the beach that the sea totally destroyed. Only this one house Mommy! None of the other houses just this one. So I took my snapshot camera and off we went...

Matt 7:26-27 "And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it."

And great was the fall of it indeed...

May we build our houses upon the solid rock of Jesus Christ!

When we are in desperate need of mending...

He came home from work all excite and probably saw that I didn't have the greatest-mommy-day-of-the-month. I could see the hope in his eyes as he shared his good news. Me, I just couldn't be anything less than honest, so out came a six word sentence that I couldn't take back afterwards. It just came flying out of my mouth and I could see and feel his disappointment.
The words were out and I couldn't take them back.

For a moment I couldn't just be anything less than honest and completely forgot about why I was put on this earth in the first place created to be his help meet and support and love and care and here I just said six words without thinking.
You know what hurt the most? When he said to me: I knew you were going to say that.

He knew.

He knew I was going to disappoint him.

Later that night, I'm doing some ironing with needle and thread close by and as I go through the clothes I mend and fix and pray these words...

"Lord, fix me
mend me
all these holes
and tears
and hurts.

Oh come and do the mending
and healing and fixing.
Please come and mend the
holes, the relationships,
the brokenness.
May I always remember
that I'm imperfect
and that You are the perfect
One that heals and mends.
Jesus, I will always
need You!"

Psalm 141: 3 "Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips."

When you're feeling alone in the crowd...

I did a post about this here and here...

My conclusion:  2 Cor 1: 3 - 7

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also aboundeth by Christ.
And whether we be afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effectual in the enduring of the same sufferings which we also suffer: or whether we be comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
And our hope of you is stedfast, knowing, that as ye are partakers of the sufferings, so shall ye be also of the consolation.

I When we choose to follow Jesus and choose to be obedient to His Voice and His Word there is no guarantee that all will be smooth sailing from there. There might be times when we feel completely alone and isolated, even in a crowd. We might stand out because we choose to not be of this world, but choose to be holy and set apart for God's glory.

But know this: there is Comfort, and with the comfort comes salvation through these sufferings. And know,

I will walk tall
and I will rejoice
I will continue to follow my King
my Comforter
my Saviour!
When I stand out
I will stand tall!
